How to create and work with brackets
Create brackets
When registration is closed you can create the brackets. Go to your "registrations" page and click "create bracket".
You can create brackets one by one by clicking the "Create bracket" next to the group/division.
Batch create bracket
If you have many brackets we recommend using our batch create function. This allows you to create several brackets at the same time with just a click of a button!
1. Filter your brackets so that they all have the same criterias (length of the match etc)
2. Toggle all groups you wish to include
3. Press "Batch create brackets" and then choose your settings (bracket type, assign them to a mat etc)
1. Start by selecting the type of bracket you plan to use. We support several different options.
2. Assign it to one of your mats/rings/cages (available if you have created categories and mats).3. Choose the fighttime of the bracket and estimate how long time each fight will take on average, this is used for the ETA´s in the scheduling. If you have no idea what to put, just put the same time as the fight duration. When you get experience you might want to change this over time to get better ETA´s from the start.
4. Choose the kind of scoreboard you want to use for the bracket (you can have different scoreboards in your event!). Pro tip: Choose your default scoreboard in your settings and it will always choose this.
Schedule the bronze and final match freely
This option gives you the ability to move the bronze and/or the finalmatch of the bracket to another mat. Only use this option if you want to have your finals on a separate mat or together as a block of finals.
If you already created a bracket and after that wish to add more fighters in a group you need to set the “Check” or “Approved” check box of your fighter to green and then recreate the bracket to include your newest fighter in the draw.
Brackets are generated with optimum separation in regards to academy and team so two guys from the same academy will not fight each other until the finals.
Creates results
This setting controls if this bracket should create results in the resultslist or be "out of competition" for the accumulated points for best club and team.
Edit seed / Edit settings
You can reach the bracket once it is created from both the registrations view or the “Schedule & brackets” view. Click on the bracket and click settings to change scoreboard, fight duration. You can also assign it to a different mat or change the ETA for the fights in that category.
Delete brackets
If you for some reason need to delete your created bracket you can do this from the settings menu for the bracket. Just make sure that you havent started the bracket! :)
If you click “Edit seed” you can change single/double elimination/round robin/ best of three IBJJF three players etc. You can also rearrange your seed manually with drag´n drop.
To recreate is necessary if you have added fighters to your category or if you have cancellations in a category and you wish to redraw to even out the bracket. You will have a red warning flag in the overview “Schedule & brackets” that tells you if you have a mismatch between number of fighters set “Approved” and number of fighters that are inserted in a bracket.
In this example fighters "Jone Ellis" and "Marica Willis" was unapproved after the bracket was created.
The red arrows show how this has affected the bracket. If you press the "recreate" button it will recreate the bracket without them. This is great if you want to optimize your brackets before you start.
This is the result of the new recreated bracket.
In this example we have moved one fighter to the division after the bracket was created. Now you need to re-seed the bracket to update it with his name.
Press the "place" button to move the fighter to a open spot (or create a new one with the add bye button) in the bracket and press "Save manual seed" to save the bracket with the same order. If you dont mind the order you can press "Recreate" and that will add the new "non placed" fighter.
Publish brackets
When you are ready with your work with “Schedule & Brackets” you publish your brackets by going to the settings page of your event and check the box “Publish brackets”. This makes everything available to your fighters/coaches and audience. (It also activates the information on “Your account/matches” so that all fighters can see when and where they are fighting.
Print brackets
In “Schedule & Brackets” you click “All brackets” and in the top menu you can choose to print all brackets at once or filter per fighting area and day. It can be very handy to print all brackets as a safety measure in case you have a breakdown of computers, loose connection to internet etc.. We recommend keeping printed brackets at each table/fighting area for the staff to fall back to if anything happens.
